Critics Consensus

This vengeance film leans heavily on attack-and-avenge scenarios but performances by Brian Cox's and Tom Sizemore's take the stink out of any weaker scripting.

Jeremy A Ok little flick. I expected more violence... 3.5* Rated 3.5/5 Stars • Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 10/22/24 Full Review Lasse G Despite a few moments of intense suspense, the movie overall feels sluggish and lacks the expected character development. One would anticipate that Brian Cox’s character would display a range of emotions, transitioning through grief, anger, indignation, and frustration before reaching a point of desperate vigilante action. However, instead of this emotional journey, we are presented with a flat, monotone portrayal, with little change or depth from beginning to end. This missed opportunity for character growth leaves the narrative feeling somewhat one-dimensional. Rated 2.5/5 Stars • Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 09/04/24 Full Review Cork B Red tries to be the grown up version of John Wick, but suffers from relapse in the 3rd act. The performances aren't bad, but you can't help shake that made for TV vibe. Rated 3/5 Stars • Rated 3 out of 5 stars 09/01/24 Full Review Jack O The script would be sleep inducing if it weren't for watching really good actors give it their best shot to keep a straight face while mouthing what is so startlingly bad.
